Drop-in Ready

You can easily find a shop that’ll help you convert your rig over to lithium batteries. However, there’s no need to take it in and pay someone else if you can do it yourself. Patriot Power Source’s lithium batteries are lightweight and drop-in ready, making that possible.

Installing them yourself is a straightforward process, and you’ll receive a guide to help you through it. Since every RV is set up differently, our batteries can be wired in parallel or in a series, depending on what you need. We’re also happy to walk you through the process over the phone if you get stuck or have any issues.

When you purchase one of our lithium battery conversion kits, you’ll get everything you need to make the switch. We provide 100Ah 12V lithium batteries, and you can choose from one to four in your kit. You’ll also receive the wiring kit, battery meter, and a dedicated LiFePO4 charger. You’ll need a more advanced charger to make the most of your lithium batteries, but the basic model included is a great backup to have around.

Weight

You’ll find plenty of benefits to the weight loss your RV will experience when you convert to lithium batteries. These include better fuel efficiency and less strain on your tires, brakes, and suspension. Not to mention that you’ll have no problem keeping to your weight limit.

Patriot Power Source’s lithium batteries are significantly lighter than lead-acid batteries. If you’ve got a big house bank, you could be shedding 300 to 400 pounds easily. Our batteries are only about a third of the weight of lead-acids.

Power

Do you find yourself spending a lot of time monitoring your batteries’ charge levels and wondering if you’re going to make it to your next stop? The consistent power you’ll get from Patriot Power Source’s lithium batteries makes it easy to predict exactly how long they’re going to last.

While lead-acid batteries suffer a loss of voltage as they’re depleted, lithium batteries don’t have this problem. It doesn’t matter if they’re 100% charged or 1%, you’ll get the same performance and power from them.

Charging

If you only travel in your RV for part of the year, lithium batteries are still a better option. They’re more efficient at keeping their charge when not in use.

When you’re relying on lead-acid batteries, you have to recharge them often because they can’t be depleted past 50% without risking damage. Plus, they lose 33% of their charge per month when they’re not in use. That means that you’ll need to charge them at least once a month, even if you’re not planning to use them at all.

On the other hand, Patriot Power Source’s lithium batteries only lose 2-3% per month and can be fully depleted without causing damage. You could easily leave your RV for six months, and you wouldn’t have to worry about recharging them during that time. In fact, you’d still have over 80% of your charge when you returned.

Temperature

Florida usually experiences pretty mild winters, but summers can get hot and muggy. Extreme temperatures negatively affect all batteries. However, Patriot Power Source’s lithium batteries handle these extremes better than others.

You can use our batteries in temperatures ranging from 14 degrees to 140 degrees. While all batteries experience a loss of capacity in colder temperatures, our batteries retain 95-98% of their rated capacity at 32 degrees. Even at 14 degrees, you’ll still get 80% of the capacity. Part of the reason that these batteries handle the cold so well is that they warm themselves as they’re used, lowering the resistance and increasing the voltage.

You’ll have a little less flexibility when it comes to charging, though. Make sure the temperature is between 32 degrees and 113 degrees when you’re charging your lithium batteries.

Battery Capacity and Lifespan

Whether you’re using lead-acid batteries or another brand of lithium, our lithium batteries last longer than the competition.

Typically, lead-acid batteries get up to 1,000 charge/discharge cycles. Most lithium batteries already last three to five times longer, with 3,000 to 5,000 cycles. Patriot Power Source’s lithium batteries can get between 7,000 to 7,500 cycles. Rather than replacing your batteries every five to ten years, our batteries can provide up to twenty years of power, depending on your setup and usage.

Plus, our lithium batteries have 100Ah, which is fully usable. Since lead-acid batteries can’t be depleted more than 50%, a 100Ah lead-acid would actually only provide you with 50Ah of usable power. An equivalent lithium battery provides double the power.

Safety

When it comes to safety, it’s important that you choose the best technology. That’s why our lithium batteries have LiFePO4 technology, which is inherently safe. They also don’t contain any acid, so you don’t have to worry about hazardous leaks, spills, or any other safety issues related to acid.

Patriot Power Source’s lithium batteries have a built-in BMS or Battery Management System. The BMS monitors the battery’s temperature and other functions to ensure that it’s running optimally. Its safety circuits also prevent overheating, over-charging, and over-discharging, making them even safer.

Since they don’t contain acid, you also won’t have to worry about adding water, cleaning off corrosion, or checking acid levels to maintain your lithium batteries. In fact, our batteries are completely maintenance-free, saving you time and money.
