Since every RV setup is different, our batteries are engineered to run in a series wiring setup or in parallel, depending on what you need.

Weight

Patriot Power Source’s lithium batteries weigh about a third of lead-acid batteries. Making the switch to our batteries can reduce your rig’s weight by at least 300-400 pounds! That weight loss carries many benefits for your RV.

Charging

In Arizona, winters are beautiful, and summers are hot. This makes it an ideal location for snowbirds who want to get out of the snow for a few months of the year. If you’re only using your RV part-time, lithium batteries are even more beneficial.

Leaving your RV for months at a time is a problem if you have lead-acid batteries. This is because these types of batteries lose 33% of their charge per month when they’re not in use. Combine that with the fact that you run the risk of damage if the charge level gets below 50%, and you’ve got a serious problem. If you’re out of state, you’ll need to find someone that can check on your RV and recharge your batteries at least once a month.

Patriot Power Source’s lithium batteries can easily be left for six months or more without needing any type of care. They only lose 2-3% of their charge per month, and they can be fully depleted without causing any damage. After six months away, you’ll come back to over 80% of your charge left.

Temperature

While Arizona’s winters never get too cold, the summers are a problem. Extreme heat is common, with temperatures in the triple digits for over a third of the year. Fortunately, Patriot Power Source’s lithium batteries can handle the heat. You can safely use these batteries in temperatures up to 140 degrees!

While you probably won’t have to worry about it in this state, our batteries will also work in cold temperatures down to 14 degrees, and they have less capacity loss in the cold compared to other batteries.

To keep your batteries in the best condition possible, you will need to make sure that the temperature is between 32 degrees and 113 degrees when you charge them.

Battery Capacity and Lifespan

The lithium batteries that Patriot Power Source provides have 100Ah. A lead-acid battery with the same Ah can only provide 50Ah of usable power due to the fact that charge levels need to stay above 50%. When you make the switch to lithium, you’re effectively doubling your power.

On top of that, our batteries have the most extended lifespan for RV batteries that you’ll find. They have a 7,000 to 7,500 cycle life. Comparatively, other brands of lithium batteries get up to 5,000 cycles, and lead-acids typically only see up to 1,000 charge/discharge cycles.

If you’re sick of replacing your batteries every five to ten years, switching to our batteries can get you up to twenty years, depending on your rig’s setup and usage.

Safety

The LiFePO4 technology used in Patriot Power Source’s lithium batteries is inherently safe. Lithium batteries are also acid-free, so you don’t have to worry about leaks or spills.
