The lithium batteries you’ll get from Patriot Power Source are drop-in ready. What this means is that they’re easy enough to switch out on your own, saving you from finding someone to do the conversion for you. You’ll also save some money by doing it yourself.

When you purchase our batteries, you’ll receive a guide that will walk you through the process. Since each rig is set up a little differently, our batteries can be wired in parallel or in series, depending on what you need. If you’re having any issues, you can call us, and we’ll talk you through the installation.

Patriot Power Source also offers battery bundles and conversion kits that come with everything you need to make the switch. All our batteries are 100Ah 12V lithium batteries, and you can choose from one to four. The set also comes with a wiring kit, a battery meter, and a LiFePO4 charger. However, this charger is great to have as a backup, but you’ll need something better to charge your rig faster and more efficiently.

Weight

Thanks to the fact that Patriot Power Source’s lithium batteries weigh only a fraction of lead-acid batteries, you can reduce your RV’s weight by at least a few hundred pounds when you make the switch.

Charging

Lithium batteries offer a significant advantage to RVers who only travel part-time.

Lead-acid batteries lose 33% of their charge per month when they’re not in use. To compound this problem, they also can’t be depleted lower than 50% without risking damage to the battery. If you’re not planning to use your rig for a few months, you’ll still need to check in and charge the batteries at least once a month.

Patriot Power Source’s lithium batteries can be depleted down to 0%, but that doesn’t even really matter. Our batteries only lose about 2-3% of their charge per month, meaning you could take six months off from your RV, and you wouldn’t have to check on it or charge your batteries at all during that time. In fact, you’d still have over 80% of your battery left when you returned.

Temperature

While California’s weather is pretty nice year-round, our lithium batteries can handle any extreme temperatures you’re likely to see in this state. You can use these batteries in temperatures ranging from -4 degrees to 140 degrees.

Colder temperatures are known to lower the usable capacity of batteries, but Patriot Power Source’s lithium batteries don’t experience much loss compared to the competition. As the temperature reaches freezing, at 32 degrees, they’ll still retain 95-98% of their capacity, and they only drop to 80% at 14 degrees. Plus, as our lithium batteries are used, they warm up on their own, increasing the voltage.

Keep in mind that you do need to take a little more care when you’re charging your lithium batteries. Only charge them in temperatures between 32 degrees and 113 degrees to keep them performing optimally.

Battery Capacity and Lifespan

Patriot Power Source’s 100Ah lithium batteries offer double the usable power of lead-acid batteries. A lead-acid battery with the same Ah would only provide 50Ah of power, thanks to the fact that they can’t be depleted past 50%.

Even among lithium batteries, ours have extended battery life. Typical lead-acid batteries get around 1,000 charge cycles. Other lithium batteries top out around 5,000 cycles. Patriot Power Source’s lithium batteries can get between 7,000 to 7,500 charge cycles, lasting you up to twenty years, depending on your usage and setup. That’s more than double what you can expect from other batteries.

Safety

The LiFePO4 technology we use in our batteries is inherently safe. Our batteries also include a built-in BMS or battery management system. This system continuously ensures that your batteries are operating efficiently. They also have several safety circuits in place to keep your batteries from overheating, over-charging, and over-discharging.

Maintenance

RV batteries can require a lot of maintenance. It’s important to check acid levels, add water, clean corrosion, and more when you’re using lead-acid batteries.
