Drop-in Ready

While you’re sure to find plenty of shops that’ll help you convert your rig to lithium batteries, you can save yourself time, hassle, and money by using Patriot Power Source’s batteries.

They’re drop-in ready and lightweight, making it much easier to switch them out yourself. The process is straightforward, and you’ll receive a guide that’ll help you navigate through installation. Every RV is different, which is why our lithium batteries can be wired in parallel or in a series, depending on your setup. If you need any help, we’re more than happy to walk you through the process.

Patriot Power Source also provides full lithium battery conversion kits. When you choose your kit, you can pick from one to four 100Ah 12V lithium batteries. These kits also include a wiring kit, battery meter, and a basic LiFePO4 charger. This charger is a great backup to have on hand, but you’ll want something more powerful to take full advantage of these batteries.

Weight

Power

One of the biggest complaints we hear about lead-acid batteries is that RVers have to constantly monitor how much charge these batteries have left to make sure they have enough power to get to their destination.

This is because lead-acid batteries suffer from the Peukert effect, so they lose their voltage output as they’re discharged, making it impossible to predict exactly how long they’ll last.

Our lithium batteries don’t have this problem. They provide consistent performance and power, whether they’re charged to 1% or 100%, so you’ll have a clear idea of how much power and time you have until you need to recharge them.

Charging

Lithium batteries lose less charge per month when not in use, making them even more advantageous for part-time RVers.

Lead-acid batteries lose 33% of their charge per month and need to be recharged before they go below 50%. If you’re not using your RV for six months, you’ll still need to make sure you’re charging your batteries at least once a month to prevent damage.

Our lithium batteries only lose about 2-3% a month, and you can deplete them all the way down to 0% without any damage. If you leave these batteries for the same six months, you’ll still have over 80% of your battery left, and you won’t have to stop in to recharge them at all during your off-season.

Temperature

While Texas has good weather for most of the year, it can see some extreme temperatures in both summer and winter. Fortunately, Patriot Power Source’s lithium batteries can handle these extremes better than other options.

Whether it’s -4 degrees or 140 degrees, our lithium batteries can still power your rig’s household appliances and electronics.

All batteries tend to lose some of their usable capacity in cold temperatures, but our batteries experience very little loss. In fact, they offer 95-98% of their power in freezing weather below 32 degrees. They lose a little more, down to 80%, when temperatures reach 14 degrees, but this is still much more usable power than you'll find in other batteries. As they’re used, they warm themselves up, which also helps to increase their voltage.

However, extreme temperatures affect the charging process, so you need to make sure to charge them in temperatures between 32 to 113 degrees to prevent damage.

Battery Capacity and Lifespan

Patriot Power Source’s lithium batteries have 100Ah, and it’s all fully usable, which means you’ll get double the power. Lead-acid batteries have to be recharged before they get below 50% to prevent damage, so you only get 50Ah of usable power, even though they’re labeled 100Ah.

Our batteries’ lifespan is also longer than any other type of battery. Lead-acid batteries can get up to 1,000 charge/discharge cycles in their life. Other lithium battery brands offer up to 5,000 cycles. Our batteries can get between 7,000 to 7,500 cycles. With Patriot Power Source’s lithium batteries, you could be looking at up to twenty years of power, compared to the five to ten that you’d get with other batteries.

Safety

Safety is of the utmost importance, which is why Patriot Power Sources uses LiFePO4 technology, which is inherently safe. On top of that, our batteries all have a built-in battery management system (BMS). This system ensures that your batteries are always performing optimally.

They also protect your batteries by detecting temperature to prevent overheating. Safety circuits also monitor and prevent over-charging and over-discharging. With the BMS monitoring your batteries at all times, you don’t have to worry about safety.
