Why Patriot Power Source Has the Best Lithium Golf Cart Batteries for North and South Carolina
Many people in North and South Carolina own golf carts. They’re prevalent in beach towns, where life seems to run at a slower pace. Golf carts are an excellent option for short trips and getting around in these types of towns. If you own a golf cart, you may have started doing some research on lithium batteries to power your golf cart.
Lithium batteries have taken the golf cart world by storm, and many people have realized that they’re the better choice for powering their vehicle. Lithium batteries have many advantages over lead-acid ones, so more and more golf cart owners are making the switch.
So, how do you know which lithium batteries to buy? Which batteries can you trust to handle the unique challenges you may be dealing with in these states?Patriot Power Source Lithium Golf Cart Batteries
Here at Patriot Power Source, our goal is to provide you with the most advanced battery technology. Our lithium batteries are designed and engineered in the United States and feature the latest cutting-edge LiFePO4 technology. Let’s take a look at what this means for you and your golf cart.
Drop-in Ready
While there are plenty of shops in North and South Carolina that’ll help you convert your golf cart to lithium batteries, Patriot Power Source’s batteries are drop-in ready for 36V and 48V carts. You can save yourself the hassle and some money by switching out your batteries yourself.
Our batteries come with a guide that’ll walk you through the process. Just like a standard cart, they are engineered to run a series wiring setup, but if you have any issues, you can just call us and we’ll walk you through it.
Plus, all our lithium batteries come with a complete conversion kit. You’ll get three to four 12V lithium batteries, depending on whether you have a 36V or 48V golf cart. You’ll also get the wiring kit, a LiFePO4 charger, and a battery meter.
Weight
Patriot Power Source’s lithium batteries weigh a fraction of lead-acid batteries. You can reduce your golf cart weight by 300-400 pounds. While the laws are different in every city, many in North and South Carolina will allow you to drive on the streets (with special rules and equipment).
This weight reduction can get you a 4-5 mph speed increase, which is helpful when you’re dealing with regular traffic. It also improves your golf cart’s maneuverability, allowing you to better navigate through traffic or pull over to the side of the road as needed.
Power
Another benefit you’ll receive from our batteries is constant power. It doesn’t matter if your battery is charged to 100% or 1%, our batteries will operate at full capacity. They also aren’t affected by the terrain, so if you end up driving through the sand or over a hill, you’ll get the same performance as on the flat street.
Charging
Many North and South Carolina residents are snowbirds who leave their golf carts sitting in the winter while they travel to warmer states. This is where our batteries give you the most significant advantage. Patriot Power Source’s lithium batteries only lose about 2-3% of their charge a month.
Let’s say you leave your home in the Carolinas for a warmer climate from November through March. When you return, your golf cart will still have about 85% of battery left! If you were still relying on lead-acid batteries, you would have returned to a dead battery.
Temperature
North and South Carolina have similar climates, and both experience hot and humid summers and freezing winters. With our lithium batteries, you’ll be able to use your golf cart no matter the weather. These batteries will power your golf cart in temperatures as low as -4º F and as high as 140º F.
Many batteries’ usable capacity lowers substantially in colder temperatures. Patriot Power Source’s lithium batteries experience very little loss of capacity. In fact, at temperatures below freezing, which is 32º F, 95-98% of the battery’s capacity can still be used. Even at 14º F, our batteries still provide 80% of the rated capacity. These batteries also warm when used, which lowers the resistance and increases the voltage.
Now, these extreme temperatures do affect how you charge your batteries. You’ll need to charge them between 32º and 113º F.
Battery Capacity and Lifespan
Patriot Power Source’s lithium batteries all have 100Ah. This means that you’ll get about 50-60 miles of range before you need to recharge. This should be more than enough to get you wherever you need to go in the smaller beach towns and residential communities in North and South Carolina. With this much range, you likely won’t even need to charge your cart daily.
Our batteries also have one of the most extended lifespans of any other battery on the market. With 7,000-7,500 cycles, you’ll be using this battery for about twice as long as you would if you had lead-acid ones.
Safety
As mentioned before, our batteries are made with LiFePO4 technology, which is inherently safe. Patriot Power Source batteries also have a built-in Battery Management System (BMS). The BMS monitors the battery and prevents it from overheating, over-charging, and over-discharging. It also ensures that the battery is running optimally at all times.
Maintenance
Many folks in North and South Carolina have to worry about adding water, checking acid levels, and cleaning corrosion on their batteries. Patriot Power Source’s lithium golf cart batteries don’t require any of this, saving you time and money.
